The only thing I hate about the SM anime is Ash/Satoshis stupid little cheek squiggles. I didn't like them anyway, now they look stupid. Misty looks much better now she doesn't have downsyndrome and Brock just looks a bit..Soft. I prefer old Brock but he would have looked fucking stupid with the new art style on everyone but him

Only difference really is that Misty is actually cute now.

Brock beat Ash when he was a novice, other than that, it's just practice battles and Brock being Ash's best wife.
Misty beat him in the Whirl Cup though.
Even though it'll make me seem like an anime apologist, considering he places consistently high in the leagues, he doesn't suck, there's just always someone better

It fits the vivid colors better than having detailed shading and highlights.
Just look at how weird DBS looks in comparison , looks like Vegeta as been dipped in oil. But I guess that kind of shading fits better to the ambiance of Dragon ball,

You're taking this a bit too seriously, anon. Just pointing out that they're people whose literal job it is to be stepping stones on the way to league qualifications. "lol you lost several leagues" sounds a bit out of place coming from someone you're not even allowed to qualify for a league if you're not good enough to beat.

The point is to save money as the animators no longer have to draw details and shading. The fluidity of the movements have in no way improved in the new art style. Look at any of the countless lackluster SM battles to see that.
