vp internalized contrarianism means that it has to shit on EVERYTHING NEW, but moving from the boring 00s like shounen shit to a comfy water color trigger style sol was a great choice for pokemon, adults can enjoy it more and it's definitely up to par with current standard and styles regarding japanese animation for kids. Ratings are reflecting this also.

Ditto. Hadn't watched Pokemon since the DP series, but picked it up again when they changed the style. It looks much better, it is what a Pokémon anime SHOULD be! I wish they would have replaced Ash though, I think his character has had enough time on screen.
