Therefore, ~10 have passed between Red starting his journey and Elio/Selene starting their journey. If we assume Red, Ethan & Lyra, and Lucas & Dawn are 11 at their starts, Brendan & May are 12, Hilbert & Hilda are 14, and Calem & Serena are ~16.

Thus, following this, as of the time Elio/Selene start their journey, the other MCs are:

Red: 21
Ethan & Lyra: 18
Brendan & May: 22
Lucas & Dawn: 18
Hilbert & Hilda: 18
Calem & Serena: ~18

Therefore, as of Sun and Moon, every MC is an adult, except for Elio/Selene.

Where does the "2 years pass between gen 6 and gen 7" come from? I remember seeing an old tweet from a dev giving all the timespans from gen 1 to gen 6, but as for the gen 6 to gen 7 gap, I haven't seen anything confirming how long it is. I might've just missed it, though.

The main piece of evidence is that the rocket grunt's daughter is far too old to have been born within the span of three years. There's also something about how the Japanese release dates sorta-kinda line up with the time between the games, except for the three games that take place concurrently with another.

Yep, I brought this ups weeks ago. Since we have ripped many of the 3D models from XY, ORAS, and SM, we should be able to just line characters up with mons and create a proper height chart, since all these Deviantart-tier height charts are horrible. Nobody seemed interested, though.

ORAS. In the very moment they introduce parallel dimensions, they mention a Hoenn with different wild pokémon and a Hoenn where megaevolutions don't exist (and then in SM we get an Anabel extracted from the Battle Frontier that didn't exist in ORAS).
This is flavorfor their world, not fodder for Serious Internet Arguments and headcanons, so they aren't going to say something as 4th wall-breaking and literal as "every game you have ever played is canon" (although it was quite close)

With all the stuff they were throwing, Team Aqua/Magma's involvement and the whole Link Cable deal it's safer to say they were speaking about every game, even moreso since they were talking in hypothetic terns (and that's how parallel universes usually work anyhow). Afterall it was a not so simple explanation to "why is this slightly different to that?" (and SM just threw in a less parallel one with the ultra world).
Also Zinya seemed to be pretty convinced that the world we were about to send the meteor to didn't have megaevolutions and that a given parallel universe might or might not have megas, which si a weird attitude to take if there are only two universes.

Anyway, be it two universes or infinite universes, it is undeniable canon that there's one universe where RSE May/Brendan live and an universe where ORAS May/Brendan do (unless someone wants to argue that RSE Brendan/May didn't exist in the universe where Anabel was a frontier brain).
