A popular folktale is the founder of the country is a divine king named Dangun, so a lot of common origins could also appeal in some form, maybe a great dragon mon to represent it since this is a Pogeymanz game. Fear of foreigners imposing their rule or something does not even have to be present, I think, but that was one thing that crossed my mind.
I still have to wonder about the legendaries though. What could be minor legendaries, or if the "Cheonji monster" is the prime legendary and the southern half makes an artificial beast as a foil with counterpart stats, which could be cool, or take an old fossil mon and modify it with modern technology so it is still part of the "trio". I don't know. I could easily just suggest a four quadrant Azure Dragon, Black Tortoise, Vermilion Bird, and White Tiger, but I think that may suit China more.
In the end, it would be questionable that Gamefreak, a Japanese company, and a country Korea swore to hate due to history, would even think about making a Korea base region.
