>>33440341>>33439262>>33440501Excuse my autism but ribbons are the most valuable thing a pokemon can obtain, it's the only thing that differentiates an older pokemon from a newer one, ribbons are difficult to get, they have cool designs, they are a symbol of power, wisdom & wealth, they're just like badges, except you're pokemon carries them, they're their personal badges, their personal victories, ribbons may be useless to you, but they're proof of difficult tasks your pokemon achieved, it's literally the only bonus awarded to long-time players, I carried my arcanine since gale of darkness, I got a national ribbon after purifying her back when it was a growlithe, got another one for clearing the mt battle challenge with her, then I traded her to emerald, where I defeated all the contests & the battle tower challenges, I cleared the E4 with her too, moved her all across the pokeverse acquiring every possible ribbon, she even has the world ability ribbon, a ribbon that can no longer be obtained since nintendo shut down wifi for ds and you need it to access that challenge, ribbons exist to make features not feel like a total waste of time, just take a look at pokemon musicals & pokestar studios, fun? maybe, but in the end of the day, they are useless optional garbage, they don't even grant a single ribbon, no rare items, no incentive to finish them except maybe for the star for your trainer card which by itself is not a really good incentive to begin with, there is not a single ribbon on gen V, no league ribbon, no contest ribbons, no battle facility ribbons, nothing, truly the biggest disappointment in the franchise, gen V is the worst.
