I loved Battle Rev and the GCN games
The attack effects were cool, and the pokemon had much, MUCH better anumations.

People wanted another Colosseum game from Genius Sonority instead.
Compared to the Stadium games it lacks fun minigames, so it looses the whole aspect of being a decent party game.

That's about it. It doesn't get enough credit for the things it did well, like online battle and trainer customization.
