I did that at more than just Christmas and I did it with their stuff since we barely had the money to buy the Game boy stuff.
We'd go over to one aunt's place (who was a complete bitch, mostly for being a religious retard who as a result was a racist cunt not to mention her husband who wasn't terribly awful but was constantly trying to fuck everything that moved including my mother all of which the aunt refused to believe even after he got fired for it - twice) and I'd bring my shit to play or if we were there long enough for me to run out of batteries, I'd just go into the basement and use the TV there to play the games my older cousins had left behind when they moved out.
Fuck wasting my time with those pieces of shit. Funny thing is she refuses to take the hint. Every time she sees me she tries to talk to me when the last time I talked to her in the last 15 years was to tell her to get away from my mother's funeral.
