However, Toucans are still omnivores and will eat small insects, lizards, birds and eggs if they find them, this also adds protein to their diet. They have also shown to raid the nests of other bird species, stealing their food and killing any young or eggs in them. They also prefer to feed their chicks with insects and the likes. So while they are in some way birds of prey, but not in the sense like raptors, they are mostly frugivores and as such are important dispersal vectors for local plant life. That also explains Toucannons ability to shoot seeds. Lastly, which most of you probably knew, Toucannons ability to use its beak as a cannon, or better said heat it up, comes from real Toucans too.
