Up to the second gym.
The game felt like it was going to be ridiculously huge.
Then after that point the gyms were thrown at you one after the other.
So If i have to say something nice. Up to the second gym was my favourite out of any pokemon game.

They wanted SM out for the 20th anniversary and rushed it as result. Had we got a supplementary Kalos game, it likely would have been released last year while Gen VII would have debuted this year in a much more complete state than SM.

Why doesn't GF just put a little more effort from the get-go and release games like RS with Emerald trainer teams, Frontier, and overworld changes, DP with improved battle speeds and its Frontier, BW with BW2's areas, XY with whatever Z would have to offer, and SM with USM's gameplay changes and features?
I can see why third versions usually sell less than the original duos, even if they're more refined. Pretty much every Pokemon game is unfinished and gets a DLC patch of sorts with the pricetag of a full game.
