Mist might be like the term fog in english but in german "Mist" literally means "trash" or "garbage".

feels weird, man. they never translated the name to some german alternative because there is no girl name that relates to "Fog" afaik.

Considering "Kasumi" can mean "mist" in Japanese (though also an herbal flower), it's a very direct adaptation. Mist is essentially very thin fog, but the small water vapor is the correlation with the name usage as her Gym type. Perhaps a German name might go the flower route like with a water lily (Seerosen?)
