What is this thing base on?
It fit for dark type but which part fit for ice type?
I think it's the only ice type that have dark skin not usual blue or white

They're based on the "kama-itach" or "sickle-weasel" which was basically a legend to explain people's skin becoming chapped and splitting in cold weather. The myth is that these scythe-wielding weasels would fly in on cold winds, cut open your skin, and apply some kind of medicine to prevent the cut from bleeding before flying away as quickly as they came, unseen.
So, their claws are their sickles, their ice type comes from the cold weather, and their dark type comes from the weasels being mischievous youkai.

Dark and Ice are an extremely fitting type combo for any "evil" pokemon. If Satan was a Pokemon, it would be an Ice-type.

Razor Wind is also based on this yokai, in Japanese it is literally named Kamaitachi.
For some braindead reason Sneasel/Weavile can't learn it, but other weasel mons like Buizel can.

Shuckle seems to be based on the concept of endoliths, organisms that live in rocks, animal shells, coral, stuff like that. That last one is probably why Shuckle is found in the sea area of the Pal Park.

Alright cool man, I buy that.
I read on a forum he started as a turtle, but got drastically changed later in design and incorporated other elements.
That fits with finding him in the sea area too

I was under the impression that it was just sort of an amalgam of reptile and amphibians, but mostly with a toad body.
For Venasaur at least anyway.
Bulbasaur is just what you find when the dog digs up the tulips.
