In all honestly,, what the fuck was GF thinking back in Gen 3 when they designed this quest? I remember a friend told me about it back when R/S were new and I called him a fucking liar because it sounded like something he made up in the spot.

It appropriated blind culture. Honestly, even though I am not blind, I felt offended because my grandfather is. He has never touched a video game, and I felt as if Game Freak was capitalizing off people like him who use a language to read, but obviously could not play a game that utilizes braille within the game itself.

I was 14 at the time of RS's release and already knew about Braille like any well-read person. I went to library and borrowed appropriate book to decipher the text. The Idea was neat, but I found the conditions themselves stupid, the one with Relicanth and Wailord specifically.

No it's not. I just pulled out my Sapphire and Emerald manuals to check, but it's not in there.

I know for sure it was in the strategy guide for RS as well as in FRLG's strategy guide, but I don't think it was in the manual for FRLG either.

I literally decoded the messages in the back of a van using only a McDonalds cup lid during a road trip. The only letters I had to work with were D, I, E, T and O, R (to this day, I'm still not sure what that letter between them is). Thank god I had most of the vowels.

Yes. When you first start a new file, 4 of the 19 honey trees are flagged as "Munchlax trees". Those four trees have a 1% chance of spawning him. Due to the honey mechanics, you only get one shot at each every 12 hours.

I wasn't even aware that the booklet had braille on it. Then again, I tossed that out along with the box.

I spent a long time on that damn puzzle all for naught because I didn't have the booklet with me.

If you didn't recognize what braille was at that age, whether you could read it or not, you're probably a certified retard at this point. Any kid could have saw that shit, got a dictionary, looked up the braille alphabet, wrote it down, and then translated it on their own.
