Been playing stadium 1 and 2 with pokemon from my cartridges the traditional way. talk about stadium.

Also how do people train for prime cup (lv100) just weeks in cerulean cave and my silver?

You'll get fucked over by lack of stat.exp. Gotta use GB tower to grind the fuck out of the E4 to max out. I think each one of your Pokemon has to kill all of theirs 42 times in gen 2 to max out.

As for stats and lvl grinding, ive always just done the missingno glitch for rare candy and vitamins. also, there's moves thet your pokemon can't learn in R/B but can learn in Yellow and Gen 2 so it might give you an edge to trade them up, teach them some moves, and send them back. I have a wing attack scythe I use on my red version and its pretty good.

You can still get stat experience after level 100 by putting it in the PC and taking it out. Besides, you can easily beat everything in Stadium with a level 100 team even if they don't have any stat experience at all.

Don't rentals already have no stat.exp? If do then rare candied mons can be stronger since they can be fully evolved with usable movesets unlike rentals where it's one or the other.

playing with your own pokemon is piss easy. try beating the games with rentals only. thats where the real challenge is. stadium 1 is near impossible with only rentals. easily the hardest pokemon battles i´ve ever seen out of all the games

Otherwise just be sure to scavenge for rare candies and restart your game once or twice so you got enough (and you should unless you clone the tms, because some moves that are great can only be gotten once).

It is much, much faster to clone candies than to actually level, especially after level 60 or so.

It doesn't matter. Running a team of six with nothing but coverage moves is generally enough to plow through anything in Stadium, even if their stats are mediocre. The game was balanced around the rental Pokemon, so using your own completely breaks it. Shit, as a kid I just blew through the hardest cup with only a Mewtwo because I wanted to teach Pikachu surf and didn't feel like using a "real" team a second time.

You have to just play it a lot until you get a good feel for good teams and bad teams (considering the opponents, which use fixed themes), then you reset until you get a good team.
