That kind of green isn't really the norm on most sandy shores in Hawaii. On the rocky wave swept shallows, it could be green and covered by macroalgae like ulva at the right time of the year.
Water in some places is just green in the shallows due to more algae in the water, but it usually extends a bit further out until where the shallows end. It also usually has a more yellowish tint.
