Where do these Ultra Beasts go in the dex? Surely they won't be 804 and 805, so will the dex be arranged for the national dex?

OP means since they're new Pokemon, they will need national dex numbers, version exclusive or not, either they'll be added inbetween the UB's and Marshadow or after Marshadow.

Why wouldn't they just add on?
UBs are legendaries, and when they add new legendaries, they just stick them on at the end.

The Regional Dex will be rearranged, because it doesn't have a specific numbering system. The NatDex can't be rearranged and they will stick them at the end, but since it won't be in the game you will never see it.

Because the UBs would then be separated and not consecutive. They also like mythicals at the end so they remain "hidden and unknown", but since we have Marshadow now that's no issue. I'm thinking we may even get one or two new mythicals to keep the yearly mythical thing going until Gen 8 in 2019/20

The only natdex we have is in the Pokebank. There's been no in-game natdex. I reckon these guys will just be straight after the current UBs in the natdex

Exactly. Why would it matter if the UBs are all next to each other or not. It's just a list to keep track of pokemon. Regigigas wasn't retconed to be next to the other regis.

You could say that new pokemon have appeared early in games before like Bonsly and Munchlax in Colosseum. But it's the first time they didn't give us the entire gen in the first game.

Magearna and Marshadow have already been shown to be the #801 and #802 pokémon in official sites and in the TCG. They won't change their numbers.

It's not only in TCG, their numbers were shown in some official guides too.
Really, there's no reason to change anything besides pleasing some autists who could be upset about mythicals not being at the very end of the dex.

They're gonna tack these guys (and any other new Pokémon we might get) on after Marshadow. Not that they couldn't retcon it and put Burst and Assembly next to the other UBs, it just seems unnecessary. Lots of Pokémon that "belong together" aren't next to each other in the National Dex, most notably cross gen evos, plus they already broke convention with Victini, so it wouldn't exactly be unprecedented.

They will likely still go next to the other UBs in the Alola Dex, which is getting expanded/rearranged anyways.

Although Victini being #000 was so that you didnt get the entire dex size revealed by the 3rd badge if you bought the game early.
