>>33556990Even though I started with Pokemon since Red, I do consider the GSC titles my all-time favourites. Maybe it was because of the game's overall look and feel, or maybe because I didn't really understand the game mechanics back when I played Pokemon Red. Nevertheless, I had a great time playing all those three Gen 2 games and my mind was blown by the fact I could explore Kanto, or how the true final boss was basically "yourself" from the previous generation.
Pokemon XY may be my favourite modern Pokemon game, but if GSC accomplished something was that it made me want to play both three versions (well, I guess RSE managed to do the same but I don't recall going all out in Sapphire).
Since this is the GS(C) thread, I might as well ask you folks for any tips regarding teams that I want to build. Ideally, I want to go for Johto-only team builds since it adds some challenge to it considering the best Pokemon to use in-game are ironically Pokemon from Gen 1 such Geodude, Gyarados, Lapras, and Magmar.
Here are my current ideas:
Gold:
- Typhlosion
- Ampharos
- Quagsire
- Sudowoodo
- Granbull
- Xatu (though thinking of perhaps going for Espeon instead)
Silver:
- Feraligatr
- Crobat
- Ampharos
- Espeon
- Milktank
- Donphan
