>>33563712When Super's story is good, it's really good. Characters were better than Sky's (though weaker than Gates's), but while it had some excellent moments, there were some really bad choices made with it.
I'd have tolerated the slow beginning if it didn't completely ditch the characters it built up in the first 40% of the game. The society were better than the Wigglytuff guild because they actually did something in the plot, but were as bland as boiled potatoes. Pacing started going way too fast towards the end. I have no problem with the final boss not being a pokemon (I actually almost prefer it to having it be a pokemon), but it was yet another negativity entity in a story where negativity wasn't a theme. Gates did it first, Gates did it better. Also, the ending scene was a complete cavalcade of shit.
By far the worst scene in the entire series. Most importantly though, the partner, while in many respects is the most detailed PMD character yet, was just unlikable to me. Felt more like characters were treating him differently rather than him actually developing. Really, the only thing the guy learned is not being so afraid of ghosts.
It's definitely a better story than Rescue Team (which barely felt like a story to begin with), but with the ideas the story had, I felt as though it should have been better than what it was.
