>>33578241It's not a cashgrab if the developers actually put love and effort into it, regardless of whether the game is good or not. A cashgrab game is a game that the developers only made to make more money, and not because they genuinly wanted to. It honestly doesn't seem to me like Platinum and BW2 were cashgrabs, it seems like they actually wanted to improve DP and they've publically that BW2 was chosen over remakes/third-version because they genuinly loved the idea.
XY seems like a project that wasn't supposed to be a cashgrab, but ended up being diluted heavily due to poor balance between marketing features, pandering and actual story/content. Same goes for ORAS, they just focused solely on RS instead of RSE, which was the wrong thing to do.
Though, SM really felt like a cashgrab to me, or at least the closest any Pokémon game have been to it yet. SM is like 40% cutscenes and 30% pandering, leaving so very little actual content to enjoy. And now USUM is coming out as a split third-version. They couldn't even be bothered to combine and expand the SM story in order to create a solid third-version version. Nope, they're just SM with some glimglam. At least that's what it looks like right now, but we could always be surprised.
