Are main games better experienced one at a time until completion, or can you enjoy them just fine by alternating playthroughs? Asking as someone who wants to play Platinum, BW1&2, XY and USM for the first time.

Aside from Black and White 2 since they're sequels, the most you miss by playing them out of order are some references to a previous game in some instances or carryover pokemon from a previous region that show up in that game's region. Oh, and some game mechanics if you end up going backwards, but if it's just single player, it shouldn't hinder you.

Transfer your pokemon to the next game when your able to.

Playing both bw 1 and 2 in order are the superior experience, as there are a few things you can do by linking them.

just sit back and play them one at a time, alternating bewtween more than one game at once will probably ruin your experience. it's not meant to be super fast paced anyway

The fun of some of them may be hindered if you're spoiled from playing a better one just before, so I recommend going XY -> USM -> Plat -> BW -> BW2
