Gen VII ended my lifelong interest in Pokemon. I bought Pokemon Moon and barely played it at all. I'm wondering if many others felt the same way, how has /vp/ and the Pokemon community been since gen VII game out?

Bored. Didn't even beat the game, I went to the last island and reset the game at that point.
Gen 7 gives me BW vibes, I think pokemon's going down the shit pipes in quality terms. But hey, what do I know, sales only matter, right?

Played every single mainline game, including different versions of the same gen and all remakes. I like a lot of the new Pokémon, but I agree the gen 7 games were the worst in the series thus far. I've actually decided that if gen 8 is as bad (I'm already assuming ultra sun and moon will be) as Gen 7 has been thus far, i'll still play the older games but I'll be done with the franchise. Well, excluding mystery dungeon, if they keep coming out with those I'll probably keep playing them.

For me, I wasn't all that impressed with the designs, and I had high hopes for a game that broke the usual Pokemon League formula, but I was ultimately disappointed. Best thing I can say about it is the Ultra Beasts, they're pretty cool.

I did the same thing. I sold my DS and all my game with all my pokemans on it to a pawn shop so I could get money for a tank of gas.

I'll keep an eye on gen 8, but I'll be very cautious. Probably won't buy them for a few months after release, if at all. My biggest hope is it's not so handholdy and there are less cutscenes.
