Hat is what gives you your super trainer power. Removing it would devolve all your mons, nerf their levels, and/or kill you.

They probably never considered anyone would want to.

What makes it worse is they have all the hairstyles fully modeled in the salon when you want to change them, then you put the god damn hat on to pay.
