it's pretty good my guy, but im not sure how good more defensive based mons perform in-game, so it might be a good idea to pick up a lilligant instead of a ferrothorn

Doesn't learn any good ground type moves through level up.
Also his ice type attacks will be weak with ice being special in gen2.
But he's cool looking and is fun to use.

Ferrothorn performs good because a lot of things use contact-moves in gen 5 which Iron Barbs and Rocky Helmet churn through. Ferrothorn has good resistances and can deal good enough damage. You just need to tolerate always going last.

Went ahead and replaced Porygon2 and Houndoom with Espeon and Ariados because they're postgame. I'm sticking with Meganium and Piloswine because I've never done a Johto playthrough with Chikorita before and I enjoy challenge. Any suggestions? I'm not quite sure on Ariados but I adore its design plus it looks pretty fun to use.
