>>33591669>rick and morty>goodFuturama does goofy sci-fi romp with pop culture parodies and subtle intellectual references better.
Sherlock and House do tortured genius pity hour better.
Rick and Morty is preachy with its psuedointellectual nihilism, full of forced memes, and honestly pretty dang forgettable.
It's fine as a thing to watch because it's on, and I wish it well so long as it doesn't outstay it welcome, heck, there's a lot of much better places the show could be taking itself than where it is and I'd love to see it grow towards that, but I will say that once it's cancelled, I don't expect people to regularly go back and watch it. It's a solid 5.5: Better than nothing.
Having seen their previous work, I feel like the showrunners are actually probably the ones holding it back. You see a lot of really neat glimpses in the writing, but they're mired in Harmon and Roilands' trademark dreck.
Like how The Orville has a lot of potential but ultimately can't escape being a McFarlane production.
