I am currently replaying RBY and the world is amazing. The game is literally fucking open and you actually need to search to continue this game and the nonexistent handholding is amazing. The beginning is pretty easy and linear.

>beat 2nd gymn, you can´t continue find a way
>go to 3rd badge, can´t go through the tree, find a way to continue
>then you realize you finall can go right to the dark cave
>go to dark cave, realize you don´t see anything go and search something that helps
>go to the tower there is a ghost, find a way to continue
>beat 4th gymn, thanks to snorlax you can´t continue

and everything how the hm´s are distributed in the world. You need to find them, like Strength, which you don´t even know you need it until much later.

Also you can see, that getting you can only get rare pokemon through some hard work like everything in the safari zone or casino. Legendaries are also hidden and not thrown in your face.

What happened to Pokemon? Is GF restrained because they still need to cater at kids and a wide audience?

Also I really like that you the mew glitch, let´s you obtain mew in the near of mr fujis home.
