Anyone have any experience with small, independent tournaments or leagues? When I was younger, they seemed to be sort of common. I remember Wal Mart and Target hosted small tournaments where you would link up and fight all day in brackets. Specifically, I remember third gen being when they were the most popular around here. A local game store hosted one every month that had tons of people show up, and the last three brackets would load their teams up on Colloseum, so that everyone could watch. I also remember that cheating was pretty common, as far as where people obtained their mons.

Not a lot of info is out there for this sort of thing, for some reason.

It would be sort of neat to see someone host a mini-league of 20ish neckbearded regulars in their basement.

Didn't GF recently release the tournament builder on the Pokemon site?
