I'm currently playing through it for the first time.

It's... Okay. The first hour is trash and the few hours after it are better but it gets better after you get the Connection Orb

I rate it 3rd in the series. The first being Time/Darkness/Sky, second Red/Blue Rescue Team. Last is Gates to Infinity; that game was such a let down and feels rushed compared to the others

Its pretty good. I enjoyed myself when I played it. Its not as good as its gen 3 and 4 counterparts. But Its still really fun. The problem with the game is that the first part feels way to controlled. After that the story is pretty good and it feels way better. But when you are done with the story its pretty meh desu. You can still do missions but it doesnt have the same after game as the other games do.

Hands down the best game in the series in terms of core gameplay. The music and graphics are great (including some songs from Gates that deserved to be in a better game), and the plot was enjoyable if a tad bit meh overall (I despised the shitty ending, and the antagonist was yet another abstract ball of negative emotion).

I just had no urge to play the post-game after the short and mediocre epilogue, which hurt the playability of the game a lot for me. The Connection Orb system didn't help, as the "catch em' all" thrill of the games were kinda muted with that.

Overall it's a good game, pretty much entirely what Gates should have been was it not a retarded stepchild

I got like 1/4 of the way through it and dumped it. It's probably better than gates, but I didn't play gates, so there's no low watermark to compare it to. Blue Rescue team is still the best.

Now, Super was a good PMD, very weak on the plot, but still very strong in the gameplay.
It does feel lacking on the variety and innovation though, every previous PMD game keep implementing things that went beyong just dungeon exploring, while Super only seem to have focus on that part and everything else that didn't have any major relation to the dungeon exploring was dropped.

It was fun, but quite different from the previous games (exc. Gates, I never played that). Liked the increased difficulty and strategy, but it makes it less of a pick up and play game unlike the previous ones. School part dragged on too long, but the Giratina fakeout was pretty cool. I liked the non pokemon final boss. I don't like the finite missions, and the taking a rest mechanic needs to be put to sleep.
