Taking a photo with a Pokémon also makes that Pokémon more affectionate toward you. As their affection toward you increases, your Pokémon will try to do even better than usual during battles. Strengthen your bonds with your Pokémon!

Thats not the problem

It has the same affect as amie: boosted exp points, dodging, self healing etc

So instead of giving unique interaction animations for the player and their pokemon, they're instead just going to recycle old animations then? That's lame, I'll probably only check out the feature once and never go back to it.
