A Crystal VC patch was found within the Gold and Silver files, and there's a series of blank title IDs following each region's Gold and Silver releases.
Crystal VC will almost definitely be a thing within the next few months, and I wouldn't be surprised if there was some method of getting a GS ball event to work properly.

It's not redundant. The GS Ball is a Teru-sama in Gold and Silver so they couldn't release an event for it.

If mystery gift works in gold and silver, it'll likely work in crystal, which has it, so an event for crystal vc is possible, so, again, hopefully more clear this time, it's redundant.

They'll likely enable the GS Ball event from the start outside Japan. Should there be an event, it'll be for Japanese Crystal's Mobile System GB since they seem to be interested in emulating it.
