I would say Gold,Kris and Lyra are a tie with Sun and Moon

Nate/Rosa may have the PWT but there are rules there like level equality

Gold/Sun vs Red was free of rules,X vs 6, and obviously they had mons on lower level than Red

You can see Red it's a strong trainer but if Gf keeps bringing him on regularly he will be end up beign beaten by a lot of other protagonist

In canon:

Red has no legendaries. His team is set and final.

Ethan awoke Lugia Ho-Oh and Suicune and was admired by them, but catching them is not necessary to advance the plot and therefore is not canon.

New Brendan canonically has a Latios/Latias and Mega Rayquaza. You can not advance the plot without catching/accepting these Pokemon so its canon. You can defeat kyogre/groudon and advance the plot so theyre not canon.

Hilda/Hilbert were chosen by Zekrom and Reshiram and the story cant advance unless theyre caught. They canonically have these legends.

Lucas was shown to stop the creation trio but catching them is not necessary to advance the story so its not canon.

Yveltal/Xerneas/Solgaleo and Lunala are all mandatory to catch. Therefore those trainers have them.

Theres a reason Red appears so much, it because hes canonically weak as fuck and fighting a pikachu is a lot easier than battling an older brendan with mega rayquaza

You have to beat him to actually beat the game so it actually does have a cannonical ending. That's like saying you don't know the result of your battle against the champion.

Catching any legendaries not part of the story isn't cannon, (as in forced like it is in non-remakes post BW) and the battle with red has no cannon ending
