Gen 8 baby, book on it. Might not have as many Pokemon, but I think they are gonna shake things up a lot.
-Return to a single screen. No way are they going to go back with a cluttered or minimized screen for the playfield, so I can see them trying something new with the controls. Speaking of controls, the input options they have on the switch are almost double that on the 3DS, and I can see them taking advantage of it.
-They acknowledged local multiplayer. I can see them going for co-op, or a single player with the co op character being a permament travel companion. And I even can see them having the whole game with double battles, if you feel like it.
-Lastly, Switch is HD. I don't expect Breath of the Region, but Alola was pretty damn fresh with the world design, including rolling plains, actual roads with natural patches spread about, etc. I can see the next region have hub like areas, in which the region has 4-5 huge open areas with routes in between and crossing through. Not like 6-7 routes in the entire region mind you, still gonna have traditional map progression, but the areas you explore are going to be more interconnected in some places.
