Maybe they realized they fucked up in the game, giving Lillie too many roles that the main character should have, resulting in her effectively being the main character and the player being her errand boy/bodyguard.

Lillie is Lusamine's daughter so she has very obvious connection with Aether Foundation and will most likely serve as a bridge between Ash and Lusamine/Aether

That's just so kids will remember their names; in the games, the Pokemon's names are displayed on-screen at almost all times, so them saying their names is the closest the anime can get to replicating that; they aren't actually saying their names in-universe

Because the anime exists to advertise games, so it makes sense to use a female character from the games they're advertising?

Only reason Misty didn't get replaced in Johto was because GS didn't have a female character option until Crystal

Plasma was based on BW2 Plasma though.

The anime story is probably based on USUM's story rather than SM's.

Same with Team Plasma, but then it was delayed, then BW2 was released and they had to retcon it, messing with the whole general plot and thus we had that weird N/Pladma arc, old pokemon in Unova and Decolora arc.
I don't want a 1:1 replica of the game plot, but i want a something well written and not something forced bc "new game released".
Mark my words, space suit guys will be the villains and aether will be the plot device.

I hope they will make something like this in the next pokemon movie.

I really miss that we don´t get game related plot anymore (I think gen 1 was literally the only one, and maybe 2 because it explained that lugia is trio captain of the birds).

And if she don´t have at least ara ara ara sounds than I will fuck TPC over.
