>>33638422This gives me an idea though. They could design an egg for each of the possible offspring (probably about 400 if you only count stage 1 Pokemon... incredibly rough estimate), and then leave a spot on each that changes color to match the Pokedex color listed for the other parent.
An example would be Eevee egg having Eevee prints on it, and a few triangles or circles on it. Those shapes change color depending on the other parent. (Pikachu? Give it Yellow. Vulpix? Orange. I think they're all Field egg group.)
Still a lot to design, but it leaves a lot more room. Plus, there's already a design for every Pokemon and move combination, even if most are identical in many ways. It's not as much additional work as moving to a new generation.
