>>33639071Honestly, I would say that you're the reason why the franchise has taken the routes that they have in terms of plot and flow, but you aren't.
RBY and GS made use of the technological limitations and created something incredible: a player experiencing a Pokemon world as a Pokemon trainer. If you've ever read books on game design, you would know that probing a world is a big factor in having a fun gameplay and actually learning about a game. Being too handholdy can disconnect people from the world that they're supposed to be exploring on their own. Kids found a way to go from town to town and so can you. It's really, really not that hard. Your problem is that you need to fell like you're some sort of special snowflake in the world. But the thing you haven't realized is that you're already that by default because you're the player.
Also, you want story? Pokemon is not the place to go for it. Lore, definitely, but not story. And even then, things like FF don't hold your had as much.
So enjoy the game, the flow of it is up to you and not some cutscene. Catch the legend if you want to, chill, have fun with the world where 200 people wont tell you where you need to go.
because that is the point of an adventure.
