And Ash releasing Pokemon is a meme, it doesn't happen very often, he only released four Pokemon (Lapras doesn't count because he intended to reunite it with its family)

Both Solgaleo and Lunala appear in Ash's dream and he promises to take care of Nebby.

Ash ain’t gonna catch Cosmog or its evolution line. This is basically a Larvitar scenario. He’s taking care of it. Then, when it evolve and do what its gonna do during the end of the season, it’s not going to be around anymore. This is pretty obvious.
