Not really, but I get tired of the shit fucking taste when it comes to Pokemon. Speaking strictly from a design standpoint(and not Pokémon design), I was pretty impressed with a lot of Gen7. And it may be a weird thing to get hung up on, but I'm really happy with how colorful some of the Pokemon were this Gen too. Including Minior lol

I know where it has gone right. GF made a whole generation of pokemon with nice designs but absolutely shit stats, with the generation itself being the slowest on average. So they had to make a few good dudes. They went beyond with the very last one and made the perfect fast attacker.

All the Tapus, most of the UBs, Magearna, Marshadow, Necrozma, Solgaleo, Lunala, Cosmog, most Alolan forms, Mudsdale, Zygarde 10% and 100%, the starters, Salazzle, Tsareena, Golisopod, Mimikyu all are objectively better than Minior design-wise, and most also competitively. I struggled even to use two stagers, I keep them to one or two in my team, the rest as three stages.

I'm sure this has kept me away from good shit like Lapras and Minior though

Some are terrible, some are fantastic. Depends on the game and the Pokemon. A lot of the single stages you catch earlier in the game tend to be really strong when you get them, but eventually stop pulling their weight when the rest of your team evolves and things get to higher levels. Mid/late game ones are more hit or miss.
