>Gen 2 Tyranitar was good because of its secondary typing, Dark and access to Pursuit.>Gen 3 with the addition of Abilities, Tyranitar got a further buff and received a former signature ability, Sand Stream.>Gen 4 Tyranitar gained benefits from the Physical/Special split and it’s typing thanks to being a Rock type and access to Sand Stream.>Gen 5 Tyranitar was an answer to a majority of Legendaries from running amok the competitive atmosphere.>Gen 6 nerfed all weather abilities to 5 turns, it didn’t affect Tyranitar too much. Thankfully, Tyranitar received a Mega Evolution.>Gen 7 while the Tapus Buzzwole and Pheromosa threaten Tyranitar, it’s mostly the same as Gen 5.
