Delphox (male) - mage companion. Useful for guiding me through dark areas and a clever theif so we never go hungry.

Vigoroth - Bro that pushes me to keep going.

Terrakion - for slow, chill rides and path clearing. Not to mention he's a powerhouse.

Bibarel - probably my signature mon. Lots of fun and great for helping to traverse water.

Chingling - Shouldermon. Keeps everyone healthy with Wish, and helps with my paranoia and insomnia with Hypnosis.

Maybe a Meowth, for Pay Day?
I tried to avoid legendaries for the most part. I know Terrakion is technically legendary but he doesn't really feel like one.
If including legends, I'd get either Jirachi or Suicine in there. They're some of my favorites.

Do you guys realize how expensive and time consuming it is to travel the world, keep a team of one to six combat creatures in tip-top shape, and get them through customs? It's more than you think.

I balanced out my favourites from each gen with a decent type variety. Chimchar was my starter, but a shiny Kingdra is my ace. The Cross-gen evo covers me for Gen I and II.

You don't need to have the final evolution every single time. Why can't I just appreciate something that I appreciate, instead of mindlessly obtaining the strongest Pokemon within my corpulent mass's reach? NFEs have value too.

Maybe he likes it best? Several people in this thread have listed NFE Pokemon, why is Poliwhirl the odd one out?

I'm not him, but I admit I like Poliwhirl at least as much as either of its evolutions.

He's round and fun-looking. Are you going to ask me why so many people like Pikachu even though it is not the final evolution? Maybe they just like the design. That applies here too. It's heavily subjective anyway, I understand why you would want a fully evolved Pokemon. I just don't agree.

The idea of it being a NFE has nothing to do with it, most middle stagers are creative / dynamic, Poliwhirl just seems like a diet Poliwrath

One could argue Poliwrath is just a steroids Poliwhirl. Fact of the matter is you get Poliwhirl first and generally grow attached to it sooner. It has a lovable, cute look to it that makes it a total bro, but it still has similar appeal to Wrath.

Poliwrath, however, loses ALL the cute and just looks pissed off and swollen. He's cool in his own right, but I'd take the lovable, quirky, somewhat dopey design of Whirl over Wrath easily.

Politoed, on the other hand, maintains cute but changes quite a bit, so preferring Whirl isn't too mysterious.

Arcanine for land travel and cuddling when it's cold.

Magnezone, really good pokemon altough I guess it won't be of much use outside of battles besides maybe recharging my phone and stuff. Definetly my favorite crossgen evo.
