Fairy's existence annoys the fuck out of me. Why couldn't Gamefreak simply buff Ice to make dragons worse? You know, the original dragonkiller type? Fairy contributed to Ice being as shit as it is now.

Let's introduce a new type that resists Fire, Water Grass, and Electric that's only weak to itself and Ice. Nothing about what I'm saying is broken and this type definitely does not need a hard counter.

Fight fire with fire, introduce Beast type, themed off of kaiju, to keep Fairy from ruling the meta, yet also give Bug some focus to have it be super effective against it. Some pokemon, like Nidoking, Tyranitar, and Haxorus get retyped, while still partially keeping their original typings.

Fairy was introduced to nerf Dragon, but beyond that they half assed it. They made a decent effort with its weaknesses, trying to make Poison and Steel more prominent offensively, but it wasn't enough, they should have also put Bug or Grass in there or something. The rest of its interactions are just not conducive to balancing the meta at all, they really phoned it in, and that's why everyone is still bitching to this day

Maybe if dragons didn't had access to Fire and Steel attacks and Fighting weren't so goddamn annoying especially on gen 5

What we could use is some nerf on steel

It's simple. Give it weaknesses that aren't poison and steel. Who's brilliant idea was it to make a type that's only weak against two primarily defensive typings, one of which is already the best type in the game?

On top of that, all three types that resist fairy are weak to Earthquake, so you know damn well that whatever they send in to resist the fairy move can be countered by switching in a fast ground type.

The only way to make a new type is if it's not really a type in the way all the others are, like a type that has no weaknesses and resistances, or a type that doubles the weaknesses and resistances of any type it's paired with.
