I like middle evolutions more than first-stage and final-stage Pokémon most of the time.

Middle-stages are good identifiers of whether the design is good or awkward: if the middle evolution despite being the weird teenager stage looks good then the design of the entire line was handled well.

Are these seriously the only non-starter middle evolutions? Out of 800 we have only ~55/60 three stage lines? I agree with >>33675329, the middle stages have that mix of cute and cool from the other two in its line.

Holy fuck. It took four generations to get a non-starter three-stage fire line with Magmortar. And three generations later we only have Chandelure and Talonflame, I suppose.

Yeah I like almost every last one of these. Middle evos are usually flawless, with the exception of more recent starter mid-evos.

That aside, Shelgon is one of my favorite mons.
