I thought of them maybe doing that on a more powerful hardware than the 3DS like the Switch. They could let us directly take control and use moves from the 4 they learn & move around attacking and dodging. Pretty much anime style battling.

It would be too resources heavy to justify (probably).
Would the games suffer for it? No, they'd get 1000 times better...assuming there was post game content to go with it ;)
