Following Pokemon will be so amazing in USUM and on the Switch game.

Cant wait to have UB Assembly follow me around in Alola and show a happy speech bubble every once in a while and even dance in happiness sometimes!

We've already got confirmation that the Rockruff was in fact just an NPC, which means the Pikachu is as well. Unless Gamefreak is trying to con us, Walking Pokémon will not return in USUM.

There's a picture of the player character on Tauros charging through one of those destructible rocks, but you can see the Rockruff in the background. I don't have it saved, but I'm sure some other anon does.
