Gen 2 or Gen 3?

Which has more of a "fun factor" to it? Were the much simpler times of gen 2 good or did the new additions of gen 3 make the games better somehow with natures and EVs?

Natures did not make the game more fun.
Gen 3 had a lot to do and feels like a more complete experience, but the design is not really like gen 2.

I enjoy gen 2 more, but wish I had some of the conveniences of gen 3. Just my opinion.

I prefer gen 3. While I ready do enjoy gens 1 and 2, the hardware at the time of creation was just not that great. Gen 3 is smoother all around, introduced some new mechanics that are staples in the games today, and has great gameplay and level curves imo. Also I like gen 3's music, very catchy tunes.
