playing GS let me to appreciate more 4 gen cross evos

the johto pokemon distribution, stats and movepool is so fucked up that there's no point to use 90% of the johto dex

You can't get it before Kanto, so there's very little point in using it when you already have an established in-game team.

it's meta in Gen II OU because it has a niche combination of status moves (i.e. Perish Song + Mean Look)

In game it's complete garbage and can't really take advantage of its stats

This affected a lot of pokemon in gen 1-3. This is why Phy/Spc Split was made.
