In this thread, let's share ideas for future Pokemon games, be it spin-offs or hopes for future generations, new moves/abilities, or improvements to existing pokemon, bring it all here. Starting things off, some things I hope for next game:>Retaining Totem Pokemon Probably not as 'totems' persay, but rare, 'Alpha' Pokemon you encounter in the wild. They're uncatchable (too strong to be contained, yes, they will break masterballs) and are meant to provide a challenge in your wandering, guaranteed to drop a hold item and possibly even be able to teach a pokemon of the same species a move it normally doesn't learn (via exposure)>Balltism Incorporated Basically the ability to, after capturing a pokemon, customize the pokeball to fit the pokemon inside. Customizatable areas include each hemisphere (with some different models and patterns for coloring), the meridian, center button, and particle effects upon release.>Secret Bases Pretty much just that: bring back secret bases. Maybe expand the options to range from trees, caves, to even some old shacks in the woods, and more.

>>33681623 What about an officially licensed Tower Defense spin-off game?

>>33681623 I'd be interested to see how the legendary and mythical pokemon are worshipped aka religious customs and lore. The church in Sinnoh was pretty interesting and I want to see something like that again

>Skippable cutscenes While I honestly didn't have that much of an issue SM's cutscenes, I know that they irritated a lot of the anon's here.>Becoming a Frontier Brain This is only in the event that Gamefreak reintroduces the Battle Frontier, but I thought it would be a neat idea that after gaining all the gold and silver symbols, you get to run your own battle facility. It's basically a self imposed challenge mode where you get to set the rules and restrictions of the facility. I got the idea from when Morgan, after you beat her for the second time in ORAS, asks you if you could run the Battle Maison for when she and her sisters eventually return to Kalos.

>>33681899 That would be interesting. especially with Hoenn when they were the first region to be shown having any kind of mythology to their legendaries.
>>33681636 That might be cool, any thoughts on the details?

Well-developed minigames that are weaved into the main story, like the coin game in Goldenrod Romance side-quest with rivals both straight and gay In-game real estate trading (ability to buy accommodation and shit), maybe even needing it to progress in the game

Also: having to have a daily routine, i.e. sleeping in a tent or a house at night and having to eat in the day

Choose your own sprite instead of the default ones. Demon's Souls Old Monk gym/Elite 4 where other players can 'invade' you as the leader/champion or the champion uses a random person's team/sprite that beat the elite 4

>>33681946 How they handled Koko was ok but everyone else felt very underrwhelming, especially how you just walk up the shrine and they just pop out, locked behind post game no less. it doesn't help that this is the first time you see the other tapus either

>>33681980 Curtis and Yancy were dating in Pokemom done right. It's sinful how unapprociated their story and characters are. I hope they take what was great about that side quest and develop it into a bigger and better feature

>>33681980 I like the minigames idea, maybe add a little more to fishing so it's a little less chance about what pokemon you can catch and more about player skill?
As for the romancing one's rival... I guess that depends on how the rival is written.
I mean my Gold sure as hell would have never romanced Silver.
My Sun would have romanced hau but he feels bad about beating Hau all the time and feels trying to gay romance him would feel patronizing. Plus, as the Kahuna's grandson, he's gotta knock up at least one girl to continue the line. >>33682024 I fucking love this.

Ok, /vp/, how would you rework the whole wild Pokémon encounter mechanic? Let's face it, it's annoying and hasn't aged well, but they keep it because it's easier and has been a staple on the series from the very beggining. The problem is how it doesn't allow you to explore the overworld without spamming repels, especially in caves/sea. How would you change it?>Overworld mons >Reducing the encounter rate >Not changing anything but having a "safe" zone in caves/sea >New feature that activates random encounters (although this'd make repels useless) >Other

>Like in Shin Megami Tensei, wild pokemon should appear as a question mark until your dex has identified them >You should not be able to see the HP of the other trainer's Pokemon while battling them. >Throwing a pokeball should involve solving a minigame rather than being purely by chance. The harder the pokemon to catch, the harder the minigame.

Anyway though, I had an idea for a spin-off game I guess I'll share.
>Pokemon Primal >Set back in ancient times before Pokeballs >Before gyms and leagues >And back when training non-normal type pokemon took an enormous effort, discipline, or even having some in-born inexplicable knack for it >Also, trainers former intense, powerful bonds with a one or two pokemon, as three and four was rare, and training five, six, or more was the mark of a once-a-generation warlord >The player follows/defines the path of the Primal Champion,a trainer of a humble eevee >But their beloved eevee will evolve into another type, and they will be beyond their ability to help grow >And so, the Primal Champion sets out on a quest to learn and train with many different trainers of different types, confronting fighting hordes, psychic civilizations, grass tribes and more >Ultimately, the Champion's path will be marked by taming and caring for many pokemon at once, earning their loyalty and respect >It will also be marked by the defeat of some of the most powerful chieftains, warlords, and ancient kings of the era. >And their legend defines the modern pokemon league thousands of years later Anonymous
