Third games shouldn't split up potentially what little content is added. BW2 is a different beast since they were legit sequels/story continuations. Plus when you compare Necroleo/Necrobat to Kyurem White/Black, or Dusk Dog to Rotom, they're a bit of a letdown.

Literally fuckall changes in BW2 that it could even be a BW postgame story. There was NO need for them to be two versions except money.

Yeah, if you couldn't catch Kyogre in Emerald it would have been a real damaging hit to that game's content.

Third games always have version exclusives though. You can't catch the whole Hoenn Dex in Emerald, and even if you already own Ruby or Sapphire, you'd still be unable to get Zangoose (if you don't own Ruby) or Lunatone (if you don't own Sapphire).
Plus you can still only get EITHER Latios or Latias in Emerald, not both.

and why ORAS a remake of all things, introduced new megas, and im not even expecting that, new alola forms ofcourse but so far, nothing.
Don't get me wrong 2 new UB's are great, its something they've never done before mid-gen, but honestly if they dont show new alola forms it shows gamefreak is going nowhere but down with their effort.

I'm thinking a lot of /vp/ started with Emerald and was too young to remember how DP->Platinum was the same deal as USUM. It explains the hard-on for the Battle Frontier and the hatred for ORAS not including Emerald stuff.
