On another subject, does anyone actually enjoy "puzzles" in Pokemon games?
Whether is learning how the portals work in Team Rocket/Aqua/Magma/Galactic HQs or the bridge switching stuf...

Pokèmon ice "puzzles" are so braindead I honestly don't understand how people have any sort of remote problem with them.
Same applies for every other puzzle in the franchise that isn't the Silph or Sabrina teleporting panels, and even then it's just a matter of spending one minute remembering what leads where.

Puzzles break up the gameplay from just being a walking and battling simulator. They're not particularly difficult but they're still more engaging than the later games. Quite frankly, if I just wanted to battle then I may as well play Showdown instead.

Maybe not a puzzle, but the original Sky Pillar was pretty fun, or at least somewhat novel. Rarely do you have to actually play Pokemon at speed

I like them very much. Replaying really reminded me how cool shit like that was, you know, when you had an actual dungeon instead of some shitty linear path.

Also Hoothoot/Noctowl are not evil. When the fuck will people fucking learn that dark /= dark but evil.

Not really. I'd like it if Pokemon had good puzzles, but it never has. Boulder-pushing is really not even a proper puzzle. There's no thought involved. Those ice ones look complicated at first, but you really only have 1 or 2 possible actions on each step and the correct one is always obvious. And the teleporter ones are just memorization. Honestly, between that and nothing, I'm completely fine with nothing. Nostalgiafags love to embellish these things because they don't actually play the games that they're so nostalgic about, but playing through Blue and Silver again with the VC releases, the "dungeons" are a lot less complicated than they seemed when I was a kid.
