>>33689728>targeted at kids> continue to pander to genwunners every gen who clearly aren't kidswut. They can't have their cake and eat it, either move the series on and refresh it for new generations of 5-15 year olds OR actually fucking acknowledge the 21+ veteran fans who are not respected in the slightest in regards to giving difficulty options or even just the option to skip tutorials/return later.
The game is SO easy that even targeted at very young children they'd probably just steamroll with their overlevel starter. The game doesn't really have any actual 'gameover' so if perchance they lose you would hope they would be smart enough to figure out they need to train more.
In any case the point is, Gamefreak KNOW that a large portion of their fanbase are not first time players or even second or third time, but long term fans yet they do nothing to improve the gaming experience for this audience through the implementation of difficulty options etc. Yes you can impose your own challenges on the game like nuzlockes etc. it should be up to the developers to balance the fucking game for different subsets of its audience; NOT the fans. You can gimp yourself playing literally any game but that isn't the game being difficult its you making it harder.
I literally can't believe how people can defend how shittily gamefreak treat veteran fans- genwun pandering with special appearances and kanto starters isn't enough; actually acknowledging that seasoned adults who are smarter and more experienced are playing the game shouldn't be too much to ask, yet apologists come out of the cracks to plop out any bullshit excuse possible to justify what is basically two fingers to older fans of this series.
Most other rpgs have difficulty settings or at least the option to select if you have played this type of game before- yet fucking gamefreak get away with making the first third of every single iteration of their game practically a fucking tutorial.
WHY??????????
