This. I hate Cosmog and Cosmoem being a separate Pokémon from their evolutions, while Zygarde Core is just a form that can't even be used in-game. It's just dumb. Cosmog and Cosmoem should have just been forms of Solgaleo and Lunala. They're fucking useless.

I still feel uneasy about that fact that a legendary finally got an evolution, not an alternate form or mega evolution, but a legit straight evolution.
I thought that legendaries+evolutions were a forbidden unspoken rule, but Game Freak once more proved me wrong.

Ho-Oh and Lugia: Don't have a "powerless" form.

Groudon and Kyogre: They appear as stone and can be woke up with the respective Orb.

Dialga and Palkia: Don't have a "powerless" form.

Reshiram and Zekrom: They are transformed into Orbs until they woke up.

Xerneas and Yveltal: They appear either as the Tree of Life or the Cocoon of Destruction.

Solgaleo and Lunala: Cosmog and Cosmoem.

GF seems to be making the most out of every new dex slot, and having two mid stages (most forgotten mons) for a line seems retarded as shit

Cosmog and Cosmoem are basically eggs. Cosmog is made the exact instant Solgaleo and Lunala fug so it's pretty much a zygote and Cosmoem is later in the embryonic process.
