Really, the old thread drama's to blame for that attitude. Early Clover was willing to accept almost anything, no questions asked. Then we had people who took advantage of that and ruined it for the whole goddamn board. It's a shame, really.

How'd they take advantage? I haven't really gotten too deep into clover, but I have seen the first thread for it when it was "Generation /vp/" or whatever, I am assuming that's how lame pokemon got in like the blank square that says "A Design" and the one that's just literally a Pikachu

We had a guy who essentially took the Google Doc hostage by locking cells with his characters in it, so that no one could delete them or even improve on his concepts. When he got called out on this selfish behavior, he turned into a drama queen. Since then, Clover's had a "one of us" mentality and they'll second-guess any and all fakemon submissions.

Mind you, I do appreciate the irony of the shitpost game having an aversion to shitpost fakemon.

Honestly, the follow-up game (DubsClover, or whatever they plan to call it) will probably be made entirely through the Discord, and they'll sever ties with /vp/ in the same way Sage did. Granted, they'll need to decide on who's directing it, since Camerupt claims he's out and none of the other Director potentials play well with others.

A lot of the hype for Clover died down now that postgame is all that's left to work on, and the Youtubers playing it have either beaten it already or given up entirely.
