Gens V-Vll aren't all bad. What trivial improvements you'd love to see in gen Vlll?

the loss of the bike in Gen7 really irked me, and instead there were the fat ugly ride Pokémon - the only one of which i liked was Sharpedo. closest thing to a bike was tauros which was way too big and bulky. Gen5's key item system was also pretty good - you weren't limited to just 1 like previous games, or 4 like Gens6+7

We have that since BW2
But I agree some of those changes are really usefull and helped the gameplay
I like speacially how the game asks you if you want to add the pokemon you caught to the team

They started using the huge collection of Pokémon they created. XY are some of my favorite games just cuz of the dex and variety. S/M had a lot of fun Pokémon right from the beginning too.

Sadly there isn't an option for ORAS where you can turn on the "new climate dex nav" when you start a new game (if you'd beaten it before."

I agree, people like to shit all over SM but the removal of HMs is fucking huge. Poke Ride isn't perfect but it's way better than the old system. I look forward to it being refined further as the series moves on.

I liked bag space becoming infinite (though there should be far more pockets, like one for Mega Stones), reusable TMs, and probably Abilities with overworld effects. HMs never really bothered me except early on when there weren't any good slaves and you didn't want to have a single Pokémon just to use Cut. I dislike changes that start making the game easier rather than just less inconvenient, like Pokémon-Amie/Refresh.

Because you could always end up in an area that required HMs to get to but you could forget HMs while training and not be able to encounter a Pokémon that can learn the HMs you need to leave that area. Imagine having nothing that can learn Fly on an island you need Surf to reach and nothing on the island can learn Surf or Fly and you can trade the Pokémon that learned Surf. You can do this in Generation IV by having a Finneon that knows Surf bring you to the small islet on Route 226 where you can trade it to Meister for his Magikarp (make sure your only other Pokémon in your party is Unown or something). Make sure you have no Pokémon with Pickup, and that you didn't pick up any of the fishing rods during the game. Also make sure you have no Rare Candies. If you save on the islet, you'll be unable to trade with anyone, and you won't have any Pokémon that can use any HMs and you won't be able to evolve them without any sources for experience.
